Canadian Fishing

The fishing has been good so far this season for the lake trout and pike. The smallmouth bass started out slower, but has picked up the last few days with the sun and warmer temps. The lake trout are still up shallow and being caught in good numbers. The smallmouth are on the rocks and ledges with a few starting to move up in the shallows. We will be updating mor during the next few weeks. www.gatewaynorthoutfitters.net

Pipestone Lake – Ice Reeport

May 4, 2008 by gnocanada

The ice on Pipesone is still hanging in and is froze from the narrows into Line Bay, it is open around Cedar Island and in spots up threw Gates Ajar. We are getting clThe to the ice out day, but it was snowing hard today. It is supposed to be cooler for the next couple days and warming after that. Iam figuring May 9 for travel up Pipestone Lake. The fishing should be good for lake trout all the way threw the month of May, and maybe even into early June this year. If anyone need information, feel free to email us at info@gatewaynorthoutfitters.net

NW Ontario Ice Conditions

April 24, 2008 by gnocanada

The ice on Off Lake is looking pretty weak and shakey. I do not believe it will last for another day or 2 as it is broke loose from shore and shifting around. The ice on Pipestone should be within a week give or take behind Off Lake. Check back for more updates.

Our best luck was in the morning, it really slowed in the afternoon.  We were fishing on Off Lake toady, thinking about a different lake for Sunday. Has anyone fished on Off Lake?
